I've just decided to start another blog.
I read a lot of PC hardware reviews. All kinds of stuff, Motherboards, CPUs, Graphics Cards ......
I've done a couple of interviews myself a couple of years back, just amateur stuff ofcourse. Last night I was thinking to myself, since I'm gonna buy me a new VGA these days, and I am gonna test it in all possible benchmarks, maybe even OC it and compare benchies. Why don't I put my results on a blog? wouldn't it be interesting?
I haven't seen too many Libyans interested in hardware as much as I am, and very few of those are interested or even know about overclocking. But I'm sure they're out there somewhere. Maybe this blog would flush some of them out.

Yahoo Messenger
Since I access the internet at work, I can't install Yahoo messenger. But luckily Yahoo have just started using the WebMessenger which allows me to access Messenger through Internet Explorer -or any web browser for that matter-. So I'm in luck.
Today I have a very important meeting on Yahoo with a very important someone, I'm still waiting for that someone to sign in.
My very dear fried left Tripoli last night and went to Benghazi, he's probably on his way to the desert right now. He works with an oil drilling company so he's in the desert half of the time. I used to see him only twice or three times a year and for very short times, like 2 hours everytime I see him. So that will be less than 10 hours per year. But now since I'm living and working in Tripoli I've been seeing him a lot, I'm so happy we can still connect so easily and we still have a lot of fun talking about everything. I've always worried that maybe we've drifted apart since we see so little of each other, but that turned out to be wrong, thank God. If you know how special this guy is then you would understand why I was so worried :).
So, now I'm still waiting for the "someone" I mentioned to log on, I'm sooo excited and anxious in the same time. Sadly we won't be able to talk for more than an hour, but at least that's a lot better than nothing.

Thursday!!!
I love thurdays, the end of the working week. Even if I don't have anything to do on it, I still love it. Especially that my weekend now is 2 days, friday AND saturday :D, I'm sooo happy.
I've been way too busy for almost 2 years, I missed out on a lot of things. I'm not saying that I regret what I was doing, on the contrary, they've been a very good 2 years. I was managing a computer shop in Benghazi, severely understaffed, I had to do almost everything by myself. I've gained quite some experience, but in exchange I've missed out on a lot of stuff as I mentioned.
Anyway, since I work from 8 to 5, and I have a 2-day weekend, now I have a lot of time which I can use to have fun, learn new things, work on my projects, hang with friends, or simply lay around like a slob and watch the tons of movies, series, anime that I didn't get a chance to watch before. YAY!!!
So, I'll be in the office for 6 more hours and then I'll either go to my apartment or wait for my friend to come pick me up from work. Maybe we'll drive around, or maybe we'll stay at my apartment, but I'm hoping we'd make better plans, IT'S THURSDAAAY!!!

New Graphics Card
I'm what you'd call a "Computer Aficionado". I looove computers and everything that has anything to do with computers.
Since I left my computer in Benghazi for my family, I assembled a new pc for me to use heer in Tripoli. So far I've been using the OnBoard graphics, that was fine since I run any games on it. But very soon that's gonna change, there are tons of games that I've been dying to play, and now I'm gonna need a real graphics card to do that.
I've been looking at different graphics cards -I'll refer to them as VGAs from now on- that are available here in Tripoli. Right now it's down to either a FOXCONN 7900GS 256MB, an MSI 7900GS 256MB, or a ZOTAC 8600GT 256MB. I'm still trying to decide. I have a very good idea about the pros and cons of each, and I've read almost every review available for each, but it's still tough to decide.
Simply, the 7900GS is the better card for current and older games, but, in the -near?- future when DX10 games are released it will be outdated since it only supports DX9. That also means Windows Vista Ultimate is a little crippled since it uses the DX10 API.
The 8600GT, on the other hand, is a mid-range DX10 card. So it will perform a bit lower than the 7900GS in most current and older games, but that will gradually change as Nvidia update their drivers and as DX10 games are released. Also it has a much lower power requirement, almost half of that of the 7900GS. So I won't have to buy a "serious" PSU just yet.
Hmmmmm, I'm a bit reluctant, but I think I'll be going with the 8600GT. A good thing is that it has 512MB of VRAM, I know it doesn't make much of a difference for this GPU but at least it will make it more "attractive" when I sell it later on. Probably to buy a 8800GTS :D
Ok, that will be it for now, I know at least most of bloggers won't be interested in this topic, but I don't really care, this is for ME :D. See you soon.

Still Here!
I'm still not used to blogging, I haven't developed an attachement to it as soon as I thought I would. But I'm sure I will pretty soon.
I spent sometime reading other Libyan blogs, a lot are very interesting, there are some people I actually wish I could meet in real-life. I never thought there were so many intelligent -yet fun- Libyan guys and gals who are active online. I just wish I had an internet connection at home, I'd blog and read blogs sooooo much more.
I think I haven't mentioned it, but I'm at work right now, on my break. I'm still actually "learning" how to do what I'm supposed to do. I'm from a totally different background than what I'm working right now, so it's a bit hard. But no worries, all will be under control enshallah.
Some of the blogs mention the British Council a lot, some seem to be students there, others appear to be working there. I work -and live- relatively close to the British Council office in Tripoli, and my work will eventually require me to make regular visits there, I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully I'll get to meet some interesting new people.

Another Day
Another day in Tripoli, I spent most of yesterday evening cruising in Tripoli with my very dear friend in his car. We're both verymuch into what I like to call "street psychology". The psychological analysis of the everyday man, woman and child in Libya. We spent hours discussing various samples of people. We even were lucky enough to have a "fresh sample", a girl who call my cell phone from time to time asking about a different person everytime, a consistent "wrong number" caller. Yesterday my friend had a "session" with her on the phone, I'll tell the details some other time, but let me tell you now, it was very interesting.
I assembled a new computer, I had to leave my original one in Benghazi since my family want it. I brought most of the components for the new pc with me from Benghazi and I bought the rest here. Now I have it ready but I have no PSU cables for the case and crt. My cousin didn't send them as I instructed him. Today I'll get them from here enshallah.
Today I might go to the Regatta, the "Tourist Village". I went there once before and it was quite dull. Maybe today -if I go- it would be better.
I'm trying to start a "learning program" for myself these days. I've been wanting to learn VB for ages now, and the problem always was that I don't have the time. One advantage of being alone in Tripoli is that I can finally find the time to do a lot of the things that I've been too busy to do before.
I can finally watch all the movies that I've been missing, and maybe in a week or so I'll have my PS2 sent to me from Benghazi and I'll play all the games that I haven't played. Man, so many great games, I can't wait.
A couple of my close friends called last night and said they might drop by next week, ofcourse I'm the one with the place now so I said "Hey, come by anytime, just let me know in advance". I hope the landlord doesn't mind, I'll tell them to keep a low profile anyway.
Ok, now I'll be off to work, I'll hopefully update this later on.
see ya.

Hello World!
Hello all
This is my first blog EVER. I thought I'd try it, seems interesting. Maybe it will replace the old addiction that I had to a certain forum :)
A little about my certain situation:
I've been living in Tripoli for a little over 3 weeks now, I'm originally from Benghazi so that's where most of my family and friends are. The reason I've moved to Tripoli is that I got a good job here, with a very good company.
I've just had a refrigerator installed in my appartment, so finally I can try to reduce my daily food expenses. I'm not getting paid until the end of the month, till then I'll have to be careful.
Tripoli is a lot more interesting than I thought, even though I haven't seen much of it yet.
Ok for now, this is the end of this initial blog entry, see you tomorrow enshallah.
